My leg hurts from running. What should I do? | 5k Training
Visit http://www.my5ktraining.com/free to get your free copy of the My5kTraining 5k Fast Start Guide. In this video, Coach Eric gives some pointers on how to deal with pain during 5k race training.
All runners are expected to experience pain during a training session or during the race itself at some point in their running career. Knowing what to do in times like these will help you prevent more injuries from happening.
One thing that will make a whole lot of difference in your running is wearing the right kind of shoes. Don't just use your cross-trainers or old tennis shoes, buy running shoes that correspond to your feet type, its degree of pronation as well as the type of surface you'll be running on.
If you want to know more, we've written a longer entry about this issue on our blog. You can read it here: http://www.my5ktraining.com/pain.
Also on the site, http://www.My5kTraining.com, you will find a free fast start guide, a free running calculator and the opportunity for you to learn about the specific speed work and interval training workouts to help you in your 5k training and how to improve your 5k time.
